DC.Description La reforma de la empresa estatal debe ser el principal componente de la restructuración de laeconomía cubana. El artículo revisa los temas relativos al dilema principal-agente, el carácterde la planificación, la regulación de los mercados y las estructuras empresariales, y la gober-nanza de la empresa estatal a partir de la realidad cubana. Finalmente, teniendo en cuenta lasexperiencias cubana e internacional, adelantan recomendaciones en cuanto a las estructuras demercado, la centralización de la función de propiedad y la formación y funcionamiento de lasjuntas de gobierno. The reform of state-owned enterprises should be the main component of the Cuban economyrestructuring. The article reviews issues regarding the agency dilemma; the nature of planning;the market regulation and the entrepreneurial structure; and the corporate governance in theCuban practice. Finally, taking into account the Cuban and international experiences,someactions are recommended respect to the market structure, the centralization of property functionand the creation and running of boards of directors.
